đź“– It Only Takes 1 Book To Completely Change Your Life

[3 Days Left] Here's the book that did it for me...

Growing up I was an anti-social kid who hated reading books.

Today I love meeting new people and reading books.

So what changed?

I discovered the life-changing magic of books.

The best part is that it only takes ONE book to completely transform your life.

For me, that book was “How To Win Friends & Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.

It was assigned by my college management professor.

Prof. Walsh was the first professor I had that was smart AND successful.

He had a PhD, was an executive at IBM during its golden year, and had taught at 10 different universities.

He told us that “How To Win Friends & Influence People” was the most important book he ever read and if we took it seriously, it could change our lives.

At this point in my life, I still hated books but I figured I’d give it a chance.

That day I bought a copy and started reading it.

It was the first self-improvement book I ever read.

I was shocked to learn that being social and charismatic was a skill, and something I could get better at.

I was also surprised to learn that the lessons from this book were almost 100 years old and yet, still incredibly useful today.

Even though we were only assigned the first three chapters, the book was so good that I read more than half of it the first night.

The book that changed my life.

Professor Walsh also made us study and apply the book.

He started every class by asking us what we learned from the book, wrote out the key lessons, and then made us practice the lessons.

We would have to find a partner and have a 5-minute conversation with them while practicing talking about their interests and being an active listener.

After each class, I felt my confidence and social skills improve. By the end of my semester, I became comfortable starting conversations with new people.

Once I realized that I could learn social skills from a book, I asked myself, “What else can I learn from books?”

And that’s when it hit me–books can teach you everything about anything.

You can buy a book for $10 and absorb decades of wisdom in days.

So I looked at all the areas of my life I wanted to improve and went looking for books that could help me.

To get better at…

  • Dating I read books like “Models” by Mark Manson.

  • Writing I read books like “On Writing” by Stephen King.

  • Productivity I read books like “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.

I became obsessed with reading and learning as much as possible.

This obsession motivated me to start sharing my passion for books on social media.

Fast forward to today, I’ve built a community of 1,000,000+ readers and work full-time as a book influencer.

The TL;DR of my life.

But this isn’t a rare event.

Look at Ryan Holiday.

His entire life was changed by reading “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius.

That one book inspired him to write several books on Stoicism such as “The Daily Stoic” and “The Obstacle Is The Way.”

Today, he’s the bestselling author of 10+ books and makes millions of dollars every year from selling Stoic-related products like coins and pendants.

"It's books that changed my life more than anything. It's the best investment…you can ever have,” says Holiday.

Or look at Matthew McConaughey.

He was a college student planning on going to law school until he stumbled on “The Greatest Salesman In The World” by Og Mandino.

That book gave him the confidence to pursue his true passion, acting, and apply to film school.

Today he is worth $200+ million and his films have made $2+ billion dollars.

“That book is the most instrumental piece of literature and motivation I’ve ever read for me in my life,” says McConaughey.

And that’s the wonderful thing about books.

You’re only one book away from completely changing the trajectory of your life.

And the best part is that it happens time and time again.

The benefits of being a reader will reward you every day for the rest of your life.
