👋 Hey everyone,

This week's newsletter was made possible by Beehiiv.

Beehiiv is the newsletter platform I use to send these emails.

If you’re a content creator or business owner, you need to have an email list. Otherwise you’ll be dependent on the social media algorithm gods and won’t have a direct line of communication with your followers.

Beehiiv is also super easy to set up and use.

📚 Book Summary:

This week’s book is “Disappointing Affirmations” by Dave Tarnowski.

This is one of the funniest books I've ever read. Instead of clichĂŠ affirmations about happiness, it's filled with witty and hilarious sarcastic affirmations.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the book:

PS: The visuals make the quotes even better, you can view them on Twitter or LinkedIn.

📖

  1. No one is coming to save you. You are the adult. I’m so sorry.

  2. Stop overthinking. You are the only one who cares.

  3. Things didn’t work out for a reason. The reason is you make terrible decisions.

  4. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do. That’s what you have insecurities for.

  5. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Like maybe getting your shit together.

  6. Why do something right away when you can wait for it to give you crippling anxiety?

  7. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about yourself. That’s your job. And nobody does it better.

  8. You will never be alone. All of the stupid things you’ve ever said and done will always be there to haunt you.

  9. I am exactly where I want to be. At home, avoiding people.

  10. Be kind to yourself, asshole.

💎 Weekly Gem:

Hormozi is like the David Goggins of business.

He doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He’ll tell it to you straight even if it hurts your feelings–just like a best friend would.

This podcast will motivate you to take a honest look in the mirror and work harder because you know you can and should be doing much more.
