I wrote about Atomic Habits two weeks in a row, but since people have been loving the content, I wrote two threads on it:
Here are 20 of my favorite quotes from Atomic Habits.
And here are 10 of the most important visuals from Atomic Habits.
Alright, let's dive into this week's newsletter.
📚 Book Lessons:
This week's book is The Greatest Salesman In The World by Og Mandino. The book serves as a guide to a philosophy of salesmanship and success. If you're looking for a parable book similar to The Richest Man In Babylon or The Go-Giver, you'll enjoy this book. Here are 3 lessons from the book:1) Form Good Habits and Become their SlaveYour habits make up your life. You're exactly where you are in life because of your habits. If you want to be successful, you need to form good habits and become their slave. Form the good habit of reading every day. Form the good habit of planning out each day. Form the good habit of working out multiple times a week.By forming new habits, you'll become a new person and live a better life.2) Master Your MoodTo be successful, you need to learn how to master your mood.If you project pessimism or sadness to potential clients, they'll pick up on it and avoid doing business with you. But if you project optimism and happiness, they'll be more interested in working with you.A few tips to improve your mood: If you feel sad, watch some funny videos. If you feel incompetent, think of past successes. If you feel inferior, wear something nice and professional. The secret to success lies in controlling your mind and mood. By mastering your emotions, you'll be able to master yourself and have more control over your destiny. 3) All Is Worthless Without ActionMy favorite (and in my opinion the most important) lesson from the book is this: All dreams, plans, and goals are worthless without action. Nothing in life will change without action. You can know the winning lottery numbers, but if you don't take the action to buy a ticket, you'll never win. As Og Mandino says, "Sucess will not wait. If I delay she will become betrothed to another and lost to me forever. This is the time. This is the place. I am the man. I will act now."Take action to become a better person today.
✅ Actionable Advice:
1) Form better habits:
Write down 3 good habits you want to develop and get specific on when you'll do them.
Examples:
I will go to sleep at 11pm and wake up at 7am to get my 8 hours of sleep.
I will drink a glass of water every morning at 7:30am.
I will read for 15 minutes every night at 10:30pm.
2) Work on mastering your mood:
If you're feeling down, watch a clip of a stand-up comedian or go for a jog.
If you're feeling unprepared, practice your sales script with a friend or family member.
If you're feeling unprofessional, order some new office attire.
3) Take action today:
Make a To-Do and then work on the most important task.
Write the first page of that book you've been meaning to start.
Creating a social media page for that business you've wanted to launch.
Whatever you want to do, take the first step today.
