Alex & Books #38
Hey friends and happy Sunday.
I implemented a new reading rule this week and it's been amazing so far. Here it is: In the morning, pick up a book before you pick up your phone.
When you pick up a book in the morning, you'll feel more relaxed than you would if you grabbed your phone and checked social media or the news. You'll also start your day feeling productive and have done something that will benefit your life going forward. Highly recommend giving this reading rule a try.

should know.
Alright, let's talk books.
📚 Book Lessons:
I read a great ebook this week called 12 Universal Laws of Social Media Creation (I might be a little bias since it's my book 😉). These 12 laws helped me grow my audience to 115K+ on Instagram, 25K+ on Twitter, and 14K+ on TikTok. If you're a content creator, you'll find this book valuable. Here are 3 lessons from it: 1) Repackage & Repurpose Your ContentOnce you’ve put in the time and effort into creating a piece of content, the hard work is done. Now the goal is to get your content in front of as many people as possible. It’s well worth taking a few extra minutes to reformat your content and distribute it on other platforms. Here are a few examples: Screenshot your most popular tweets and turn them into a carousel post on Instagram. Download your most popular IG Reels and repost them on TikTok. Take your most popular YouTube video and summarize it in a Twitter thread. You don’t have to reformat every piece of content you created. Focus on repurposing your most popular content–if something went viral, that means it had a strong emotional connection with people and there’s a high chance that connection will ring true with people on other platforms as well.2) Analyze Your AnalyticsWHEN you post is almost important as WHAT you post. You don’t want to post a huge announcement at 1am on a Tuesday if most of your audience is still sleeping and not on social media.Whatever social media platform you're on, check your audience analytics to find out when your followers are most active, and post during that time. You might have a hunch as to the best time to post, but checking your analytics will give you a definitive answer.Additionally, use your analytics to review your best-performing posts at the end of each month and try to get a better understanding of what made those posts successful. 3) Diversify or Risk DyingNo matter how big your social media following, there’s always a chance you could get hacked, temporarily canceled, or permanently banned. That's why it's so important to diversify your audience on social media to be on multiple platforms and create a direct relationship with your followers by having a website and newsletter.A website serves as an information center that you can use to tell your audience about all of your other social media accounts, services, and products. Think of it as a home your followers can visit to find updates on everything you're doing. An email list is also incredibly valuable. With it, you’ll have a direct line of communication to your audience that you can use reach out to them whenever you want. And because you own your email list, you can contact your audience even if your social media accounts get hacked or banned.
✅ Actionable Advice:
1) Repackage & Repurpose Your Content
Repackage your most popular content posts and post them on other social media platforms.
YouTube videos → IGTV clips
Twitter posts → Instagram carousel post
Instagram Reels → TikTok videos
2) Analyze Your Analytics
WHEN you post is almost important as WHAT you post.
Find out when your followers are most active, and post during that time.
3) Diversify or Risk Dying
Create a website so your followers always have a place to learn more about you and what you're working on.
Create a newsletter so you have a direct line of communication with your audience and can reach out to them anytime you need to.
