📚 A&B #176

My 35 best reading tips, 4 Awesome journals, and more.

👋 Hey everyone,

Here are a few popular posts you may have missed:

📧 Newsletter Feedback:

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts on the newsletter last week.

Most people said they enjoy reading it and to keep things as they are so there won’t be any major changes.

One piece of feedback from a few readers was that not everyone has a Twitter account so it’s hard to access certain content.

I do have a website, but unfortunately since I’m a one-man team I don’t have the time to reformat all of my content for it.

Instead, I’d recommend checking out my Threads or LinkedIn accounts since I usually repost my Twitter content there.

I know it’s not an ideal solution, but hopefully it helps for now.

🤓 Course Update:

I added two new lessons to the course this week:

  • How To Create The Optimal Reading Environment

  • How To Stop Getting Distracted & Become a More Focused Reader

And we got another positive review:

📚 Book Summary:

Instead of a book summary this week I wanted to share a few unique journal recommendations.

One idea I’ve been thinking a lot about is that journals are more powerful than books themselves.

You might read a book and find it “life-changing” but if you don’t apply anything from it, did it really change your life?

Instead, it might be better to read the companion journal which contains 80% of the same lessons as the book but it actually forces you to reflect and take action on the lessons.

So, here are 4 journals worth checking out:

📖

1) “The Daily Stoic Journal” by Ryan Holiday

If you want to dive deeper into stoicism and start applying more of its principles, this book is for you. Each day will give you a prompt and space to write/reflect in the morning and evening. Get this book to find inner peace and clarity of what’s truly important in life.

If you enjoyed Mark’s books, you’ll love this journal. It will make you laugh, think, and grow. Get this book to become mindful of your emotions, more self-aware, and find your purpose.

If you want to get clear about your rich life, rewire your limiting or negative beliefs around money, and identify your money dials—the things that will bring you joy to spend money on, this journal is for you.

4) “Greenlights: Your Journal, Your Journey” by Matthew McConaughey

If you’re new to journaling and looking for a journal that’s thoughtful and kind without being too demanding, you’ll like this book. It’s also high-quality and beautiful which makes it a joy to write in.
