    👋 Hey everyone,

PS: As a Thanksgiving gift, my friend Chandler Bolt is hooking up A&B readers with a free copy of his book.

      📚 Book Summary:

This week's book is Published by Chandler Bolt.If you ever wanted to self-publish a book, this book will show you how. It's direct, actionable, and will teach you how to finish your first draft, design your book cover, market it, and more.  Here are 3 lessons from it:1) Remember The 4 P's Of Writing A BookIf you want to write a book (and increase your chances of it becoming a bestseller) remember these 4 P's: Person: Who's the ideal reader for this book? Who can you help the most, who will buy the book, read it, and love it? The more specific you can get, the more of an impact your book will have and the easier it will be to write and market it. Pain: What's the pain that your reader knows they have that they're hoping this book will solve? Promise: What's the outcome or benefit your reader will experience because of reading your book? For non-fiction, this is straightforward. For children's books, it's parents hoping for entertainment and life lessons for their kids. For fiction books, it's entertainment and the enjoyment of reading a well-written book. Price: Follow the common pricing tiers within your book's genre and format.Follow these pointers and you'll be on your way to creating an awesome book.2) Make The Cover Clear & MarketableThey say don't judge a book by its cover, but the truth is we all do. That's why you want the title to be clear, not clever.Confused people don't buy books so make sure potential readers get a clear idea of what your book is about from your title and subtitle. The books that sell the most copies have obvious, "boring" titles, such as How To Win Friends & Influence People or The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing. You can tell exactly what these books are about simply by reading the title.A similar concept goes for your book cover. You want it to be marketable instead of trying to make it a piece of art. The design should grab the reader's attention, have a clear title and subtitle, and give potential readers an understanding of what the book is about. As a general rule, put your name to be at the bottom of the cover so the reader's attention goes to the title and subtitle (unless you're famous then you can put it on the top). More book cover tips here. 3) Start Marketing Your Book The Day You Start Writing ItYou don't want to wait until your book is published to start marketing it, you want to start marketing it the day you decide to write it.You want to turn your writing journey into a story for everyone to follow. This makes friends, family, and followers feel like they're part of your author's journey, and by giving people a behind-the-scenes view, you'll build interest, get helpful feedback, and get people excited about your book. Here are a few milestones you should share with your audience: The day you decide to write a book. The day you finish your outline. The day you complete your first draft. The day you finish editing your manuscript. The day you design your book cover. The day you get your first proof copy. The day your book officially launches.Don't do the rookie mistake of being the author in the woods who only comes out once the book is finished, if you do that no one will care about it. Instead, share and celebrate your journey with people and they will be happy to get involved and support you.
