📚 3 Book Summaries, 30-Day Reading Challenge, and Real Lifehacks.

A&B #203

🙏 Support:

This week’s newsletter was made possible by Write of Passage.

Write of Passage was the first writing course I ever took and it completely changed my life.

It’s a 5-week live course that will teach you how to become a better writer, build an audience online, and you’ll meet a ton of awesome people along the way.

👋 Hey everyone,

Here are a few popular posts you may have missed:

PS: I put my Twitter posts on Threader now so you can read them without needing a Twitter account. Let me know if you prefer this style.

📚 Book Summary:

Instead of one summary, here are 3 short summaries of books I’ve been enjoying:

1) “The Daily Laws” by Robert Greene

If you haven’t read any of Robert Greene’s books, this is an excellent one to start with. It’s similar to “The Daily Stoic” but instead of 366 lessons on Stoicism, Greene shares 366 lessons on power, seduction, mastery, strategy, and human nature AKA life.

Think of it as a highlight reel with the best lessons from all of his books. Since each lesson is only one page long, this book is super easy to read. You can start or end your day by reading one page. Highly recommend reading this book.

📖

2) “Write a Must-Read” by AJ Harper

This is a fantastic book for anyone looking to write a bestselling non-fiction book. It’s written by a ghostwriter who’s helped write over a dozen bestselling books.

I love how practical and actionable this book is. Most writing books inspire you to write but then leave you hanging–this book is the opposite. Harper shares clear steps and strategies that anyone can use to write a great non-fiction book. She charges $20,000 for her writing course but you can buy her book for $20 and learn almost everything you need on your own.

📖

3) “$100M Offers: Workbook” by Alex Hormozi

This is a companion book to Hormozi’s original book “$100M Offers.” It summarizes the original book and also has exercises to reflect on what you read.

I recommend reading the original book first (it’s only 40 pages longer and has more stories), but if you already read it, this workbook is a great way to refresh your memory and put Hormozi’s lessons into practice.

🙋‍♂️ Quick Question:

I’m thinking about starting a reading challenge called Read30for30 with the goal of reading for 30 minutes a day for 30 days.

It’d be great for anyone who needs that extra accountability to start a reading habit or motivation to read more books this year.

It would include helpful reading trackers, weekly group calls, and a community so you can meet new people.

How much would you pay to join Read30for30?

💎 Weekly Gem:

There’s a ton of great life hacks in this Reddit post, here are a few of my favorites:

  • “Talk positive about people behind their backs.”

  • “If you ever get hit with a late fee, politely call customer service and ask if there’s a possibility of getting it waived.”

  • “Don’t put who an email will be sent to until after you have it ready to send so you can’t accidentally send an unedited or unfinished emails.”
