📚 3 Best Entrepreneurship Books, 10 Helpful Reading Tips, and more.
A&B #209
👋 Hey everyone,
Here are a few popular posts you may have missed:
📚 Book Summary:
This week I’m sharing a short summary of the 3 best entrepreneurship books I’ve read:
📖
1) “Million Dollar Weekend” by Noah Kagan
Think of this book as an updated version of the classic entrepreneurship book “The 4-Hour Workweek.”
Noah is the founder and CEO of AppSumo (an $80 million company) and he’s built 7 different $1+ million businesses so he knows how to start and grow a business.
One of many reasons I love this book is because it tackles the emotional side of becoming an entrepreneur.
For instance, Noah shares his personal story of becoming an entrepreneur and the ups and downs of his journey, and provides strategies for overcoming the fear of diving into entrepreneurship.
He also shares simple tactics for getting your first few customers that anyone can follow whether you’re 18 years old or 80.
If you’re looking for an actionable and straightforward book that will help you go from a wantrepreneur to an entrepreneur, this book is for you.
📖
2) “The Minimalist Entrepreneur” by Sahil Lavingia
If you want to build a solopreneur-type business or one that requires minimal work, you’ll like this book.
Sahil Lavingia originally raised $10 million to try to build a billionaire business, but after failing to do so, he pivoted to running a profitable, growing, low-maintenance business that serves customers and makes him money.
In his book, you’ll learn how to identify problems worth solving, the importance of building products cheaply, and how to build a company that has a positive impact and profitable bottom line.
The lessons are easy to understand and just as easy to apply.
This book is especially helpful if you want to build an online or tech business (ex: SaaS).
📖
3) “Zero to One” by Peter Thiel
If you want to build a lifestyle or solopreneur business, you should read one of the two books above. But if you want to build a billion-dollar company, this book is for you.
It’s been recommended by Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Marc Andreessen, and countless other successful entrepreneurs.
It will change your perspective on business and introduce you to new ideas such as how to start a completely new industry, why competition is for losers, and much more.
Tap into a new way of thinking about business and ambition by reading this book.
✅ Actionable Advice:
If you want to build a million dollar company = “Million Dollar Weekend”
If you want to build a solo/sustainable business = “The Minimalist Entrepreneur”
If you want to build a billion dollar startup = “Zero to One”
💎 Weekly Gem:
Product: ButcherBox
ButcherBox delivers high-quality meat and seafood straight to your door.
It’s more convenient and affordable than regular grocery shopping, and they only work with farmers who have the highest standards for quality.
For instance, the beef is 100% grass-fed, the seafood is 100% wild-caught, the pork is humanely raised, and the chicken is free-range and 100% organic.
I love their beef and my girlfriend loves their salmon, but honestly everything we tried has been delicious.
